In these intensives, contact improvisation will be our home base to dive deeper into the form and also to reach further out from it. In practice, contact improvisation is a free-play of weight, equilibrium, momentum and stillness, rich with sensation and imagination, leaving its participants informed, centered and enlivened.
These workshops will include various somatic/release techniques, hands-on work, games, contact skills such as: rolling smoothly, falling safely, lifting easily, inverting, giving and supporting weight effortlessly and lofting, as well as numerous scores for dancing, warming down and discussions.
The workshops are open to adults of all ages with curious bodies and open minds. Please bring a snack, as there will be a break. Previous experience in CI is an advantage.
