Based on Release technique and research in neuro-development, as well as detailed and intense work by Daniel Lepkoff and Steve Paxton, this workshop proposes to explore many patterns and to make out the possible uses. Passing from endless starfish to double helix, and from windmills to crescents, these dynamic forms allow the participants to adjust the parallelism of the skeleton, to open the internal spiral,
to soften the absorption of the floor, and to unify the whole structure of the body with a great degree of precision. Overall, they allow us to harmonize the physical dialogue with our partners in our dances. Like spirographs and mandalas that we trace on the floor and in space, these rolls and puzzles are fantastic developmental tools for physical intelligence. They take all of our organization inherent to our anatomy and evolution into account. They inspire our bodies and minds to excel in searching for physical solutions to demanding situations and/or are sometimes just comical.
