This retreat is for people with a basic knowledge of contact improvisation.
We want to offer an immersive community experience to acquire new skills in contact impro. The teaching will be in English.

With guest teacher Neva Cockrell from New York, this retreat will explore themes of flying and falling – with optional actual flying and falling. We’ll have a luxurious time dancing close to the floor, allowing the body and nervous system to soften as we connect with each other and the earth. We’ll then take this softened state upward, practicing skills to both underdance and overdance safely and with pleasure – moving up and down, into and out of the floor. During our weekend, we’ll explore how rooting downward can lead to dancing with lightness, and how reaching upward can lead to grounded dancing. We will explore this solo and while partnering, with the opportunity to try lifting if it suits your body. These practices will support CI dancing as well as inhabiting one’s body with ease and grace in daily life.
