In this workshop, participants will investigate and deepen the core principles of CI focusing on the basic dynamics and subtleties of touch, tone, texture, weight and momentum. We will expand our awareness to include mobile support, adaptable stability, collaborative improvisation, and perceptual tuning, some of the key gateways leading to inspired dancing. Our practice will center around communal and individual respect for ourselves and one another.

Some of the essential tenets and skills to be embodied in our practice of CI:
Fall and land safely / Lift with the utmost ease / Develop the optimum tonus / Be omni-directionally responsive / Strive for the appropriate alignment and timing / Move fluidly while supporting another’s weight Stabilize our mobility and mobilise our stability / Soften our strength and strengthen our softness / Modulate the tone of our body in relation our partners weight / Be emotionally clear and present while dancing.
