Corinne Skaff is an artist, dramaturge, and dance educator, residing between Montreal (Tiohtiá:ke) and Beirut. She is the founder and artistic director of L’atelieCor and its various projects, including La Compagnie Éphémère, S.o.M.A, and the ContactCampBeirut festival. She holds a master’s degree in dance from UQAM. She is currently working on DAR, a dance platform for SWANA diaspora artists in Montreal, reflecting the challenges of living and creating in the liminal space experienced by movement artists in exile.
Her movement practice and teaching are influenced by various approaches to contemporary dance, physical theatre, Contact Improvisation, and ecosomatic principles. She approaches dance as a vital practice of self-embodiment and relational container rather than simply as a form of entertainment. In a constant search for meaningful dances within community and personal contexts, her movement and teaching practices draw inspiration from the state of continuous learning through play and the ephemeral, the notions of traces, Homecoming, and Bordercrossing.
