Fall 2010 Session

’The Contact Weave’

Class & Focused Jam in Contact Improvisation - regular training for all levels

Thursdays, September 30 to November 25, 2010 (no class on November 4).

Arrival 6:30 pm, class 6:45-8:15, jam 8:15-10:15 pm

Studio Fleur d’Asphalte, 6847 St-Hubert (Beaubien or J. Talon metro)

Description: 8 weeks to explore and capture the principles of CI, to let emerge a connected and centered dance, to tame the forces of our concrete world (gravity, momentum, inertia), to cultivate self-presence with space and partners in an almost perpetual motion.

$135 if paid before September 1st, $155 thereafter (jam included)

Jam only: $5 (arrive on time for the brainstorm on the theme of the day)


2- ’The Human Supports’ - advanced level on Tatami mats

Only one day: the ’donut’, the ascension, the aikido roll, the ’endless screw’, and other patterns to whelm and to forget…

Satuday October 16, 2010, class 12:30-4:30 pm,

NEW: focused jam 7-9:30 pm

Workshop in Instant Composition (and Contact Improv) - for all levels

November 26/28, 2010: Friday 6:30-9:00 pm, Saturday 11:00 am-5:30 pm (lunch break), Sunday 2:30-5:30 pm

Studio 303, 372 Ste-Catherine West st, 3rd floor (PDA metro)

Description: a 3 days intensive to create in the present and in presence, to be readable and read, to allow the emergence of an authentic motion in contact, solo or group, to make choices and express clear intentions, to tell physical and non-literal stories.

$100 if paid before November 1st, $120 thereafter
