01. Classe Andrew novembre 2022

For those who are new to CI with less than 6 months of regular ongoing experience or an occasional-casual pursuit of CI who wish to acquire some solid practical competencies.

This series of classes will focus on the skills and awareness used to create sensitive, safe and playful contact duets and trios. Sessions will begin with a warm-up focusing on releasing tension through various somatic and body work approaches to awakening the senses and developing greater perceptual awareness of inner/outer space, leading to a grounded internal experience of our weight in motion.

Various indispensable contact tools and techniques (such as weight modulation, creating levity and grounding, developing the optimum tone and alignment for weight support and shifts, falling and landing safely from any level and being omni-directionally responsive while dancing with a partner) will be practiced to develop a greater range of movement, feel secure and build confidence.

Our goal is to find a sense of ease and timelessness in our dancing - a state of consciousness that is aware but not self-conscious. The fundamental intention of these sessions is to foster inclusiveness on all levels and to be physically-emotionally sound and present while dancing.
