ON JULY FIRST, HOP IS MOVING TOO!

CONTACT FOLKS, COME AND JOIN THIS DANCE EVENT!

This next July First, while a lot of city ramblers will be moving from a home to another, HOP dancers will also be moving, from place to place.

On the sidewalk of a neighborhood still to be determined, we will be part of this big moving-happening. The core idea goes like this : a body moves another one, over a short, medium or large distance. If a body is not beeing moved or is not moving another one, it stays in place, takes the pose, waiting to be moved or to find someone to dislocate.

Contact-imrpov dance will surely be part of our dances, might you be or not an experienced contact dancer. Welcome to all of you who have to chance not having to move to a new place this year. (And who knows, our dance party might end up over a yummy pizza, like real moving people).

Pour s’inscrire à l’événement, il faut se présenter au studio Fleur d’Asphalte le 1er juillet, pour une heure de réchauffement et de tempête d’idées sur la performance.

WHAT IS A HOP?

(definition taken from the website http://artengine.ca/grasshoppadance/en/home.php#who)

The Grasshoppa Dance Exchange is dedicated to the fine and not-so-fine art of Hopping. Essentially, Hops are unannounced performances that take place outdoors in public places. Unsuspecting observers are not solicited for financial contributions. Hops are inspired by the environment in which they hoppen (natural, human, etc.). A Hop may carry a theme, address a reality or propose something altogether different.

What’s contact danse?

An invitation to let go in a haven of peace. Dancing, experience the laws of gravity, momentum and balance, that is the contact improvisation.
